SOUL ATLAS

Their songs are bland but good, they could have been hits in the early 80's. They're decidedly too soft rock for today's taste, and I can hear an echo of Tony Hadley's mannerism in the singer which is bad, I think. At best, they remind you of Aztec Camera or something like that... Hmmm, the other night I was watching those corporate rockers The Ark play a live special on mtv: as much as I hate their bombast and their Marc Almond impostor, I have to admit they have some vague kind of appeal, plus they have a decent single in other words, they can fool people. Whereas Soul Atlas (and I hope they won't feel insulted by the comparison) have got long a long way to go in order to achieve that kind of "edge". Maybe they don't thump their chest hard enough... But yeah, after all I'm sure Soul Atlas don't give a fuck a bout The Ark. Nor do we.
