The River Detectives are finally back after a thirteen-year-long break. After singing to Neon Tetra earlier this years, Sam Corry and Dan O'Neill, who enjoyed good success back in 1989 with "Saturday Night and Sunday Morning" (and eventually in 1992 with "Elvis Has Left The Building") are now in the shops with a new collection of songs, 'King Of The Ghost Train Ride'. Says the press release:
"Recorded in Glasgow at Riverside Studios with a raft of great session musicians (including the Van Morisson stalwarts) and Producer Duncan Cameron, (Travis, Teenage Fanclub, Kim Fowley, Jerry Lee Lewis) “King of the Ghost Train Ride” captures The River Detectives in fine songwriting form. Ten stunning songs follow a journey of love, love lost and emotional discovery. All this and more in 33 poignant minutes; if only more artists could exercise such quality control over quantity".
Initially due out at the beginning of September, the record's been scheduled for release on 26th September. Welcome back, detectives! |
