on november 27 the trashcans are on a major compilation of "best contemporary bands", being put out by the guardian newspaper. only 6 acts are on the compilation, including tcs, nick cave, paul weller and sons and daughters.  this will get a lot of promotion including virgin retail exposure and television advertising. there will be 705,000 copies so make sure you and yours buy the guardian!

the band will be on bbc radio scotland's "air" with vic galloway on november 29.

there is discussion of putting together a usa radio promo tour with some accompanying acoustic shows in the first 2 weeks of december.  a final decision and related dates should be known in the next couple of days.

there are also discussions about releasing "all the dark horses" as a promo single in the uk.

the band has scheduled some uk/ireland shows for the second half of january. see the gigs page for details. flyers will be available soon for street teams.

in february/march 2005, the band expects to be in japan (possibly), while also returning to north america, including a visit to sxsw (which is march 16-19).

during the spring/summer of 2005, the plan is to target uk and europe festivals.

the band's picnic records label is releasing weightlifting in germany and holland.
