THE CHOCOLATE CAKE TO PLAY RARE GIG IN MELBOURNE

Australian band My Friend the Chocolate Cake (MFTCC) will make a rare appearance during the Melbourne International Festival at The Spiegeltent. In addition, David Bridie of My Friend the Chocolate Cake will also perform solo at the Spiegeltent.

What is the Spiegeltent? It is an European Mirror tent that is used as a musical cabaret salons. During the early 20th century these tents or pavilions were used as wine tasting marquees and dancing halls. Built of wood, mirrors, canvas, leaded glass and detailed in velvet and brocade, the tents are unique in that there are very few of these "tents of mirrors" left in the world. These mirror tents have played host to the world's greatest cabaret performers and musicians over the years and MFTCC is about to join this elitist group of people.
