MOGWAI RELEASE 'JEWISH' SINGLE
Sep 20, 2001

Mogwai plan to release a Jewish hymn as their next single with a full UK tour to follow in November.

They have just completed a version of Avinu Malkeynu – a traditional Jewish hymn – with Steve Albini, re-christening it as My Father, My King, rather than the literal translation Our Father, Our King.

At over 20 minutes long, the one track single will be released on 15 October. Originally recorded over a year ago for the inclusion on Arthur Baker’s as yet unreleased LP, it has since become a live favourite.

The tour dates are as follows:

2 November Bristol University
3 November Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall
4 November Leeds, Metropolitan University
6 November Belfast, Queens (Belfast Festival)
7 November Dublin, Olympia
8 November Glasgow, Barrowlands
9 November Liverpool, L2
10 November London, Brixton Academy

Mogwai will also be releasing two LPS on 1 October. The first is Kicking A Dead Pig and the other is EP + 6, which collates the three EPs – 4 Satin, F*** The Curfew and EP. The CD comes complete with a CD-Rom section, which includes the video for Stanley Kubrick.
