Despite being already finished (promo copies are already circulating) the new Prefab Sprout album, 'The Gunman and Other Stories', will not be released before June 18th, according to the band's official website. It was originally scheduled for a May 14 release.

'The Gunman' is Prefab Sprout's seventh studio album, the first on EMI Liberty. It is said to be a landmark in the band's career, even if early previews have not been enthusiastic. 'The Gunman' features a bunch of worlwide famous musicians like Carlos Alomar (Bowie, Lennon etc.), Jeff Pevar (NY Soul Revue, CSNY), drummer Richie Morales (Spyro Gyra, Grover Washington) and banjo player Eric Weissberg of Duelling Banjos fame.
