SOMETHING FINALLY HAPPENS
Del Amitri are reported to mix the follow up to 'Suckers'
March 24 2001

Hard to believe, but there's life after 'Some Other Suckers Parade', the studio-album Del Amitri released in 1997. Now, Justin Currie has posted a message to the official Del Amitri website, revealing that the band are in the wake of mixing the new album in Teaneck, New Jersey, with Commissioner Gordon, who previously worked with Lauryn Hill and Mary J.Blige. Chances are that the new Dels album may have some touches of r'n'b even if, Justin says, it will still be 'pop rock', albeit totally different from the previous stuff.

"There is a something that I call sellby date syndrome" wrote Justin Currie "that happens just when you're ready to record a new LP, where you start hating the last album you made and that's what allows you to move on. So, I guess it's going to be as different from Suckers as possible".

At the time being, we don't know when the album will be released or what the title is.

The Dels' latest release is 'Hatful Of Rain', an essential collection of their greatest hits, accompanied by a wonderful collection of b-sides, 'Lousy With Love'.
